OKKO SHARED EXPERIENCE OF IMPLEMENTING JOINT PROJECTS IN RENEWABLE ENERGY AT THE EU-UKRAINE BUSINESS SUMMIT

Vasyl Danyliak, CEO of OKKO, delivered a speech at the EU-Ukraine Business Summit, which took place on April 10–11 in Brussels, with the participation of Ukraine’s top government officials, led by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, as well as representatives from the governments and business sectors of EU member states. The main topics of the summit were the future economic partnership between the parties, the participation of European states in the restoration of Ukraine and investment cooperation. Vasyl Danyliak took part in a discussion panel on real-life stories of successful investments with the support of the EU and in a workshop on investments in renewable energy.

In his speech, the CEO of OKKO highlighted, among other things, the implementation of a project to construct the second-largest wind farm in Ukraine, located in government-controlled territory.

OKKO Group started building this wind-farm last year in Volyn region, and international investors, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, provided loans for this project for about EUR 157 million. OKKO plans that by the end of 2025, the first stage of this wind project will start generating electricity. Vasyl Danyliak also shared his vision for the development of Ukraine’s renewable energy sector over the next five years, emphasizing its critical role in enhancing the country’s energy security and outlining the potential contributions of European partners to this transformation.
